Floor Scrubber Not Picking Up Water?
Is your floor scrubber leaving water, streaks, or wet areas behind?Poor water pickup does not always mean the vacuum motor has failed. In many cases, the issue can be corrected by checking the squeegee rubber, recovery tank, vacuum hose, float system, or foam level.Follow the steps below before requesting technical support.

2. Check the float system
Make sure:
-
The recovery tank is not full
-
The tank lid is completely closed
-
The lid gasket is clean and properly seated
-
The drain hose cap is securely closed
-
The float system is clean and moves freely
An open lid, loose drain hose cap, or dirty float can reduce or stop suction.
4. Check for Excessive Foam
Too much foam inside the recovery tank can activate the float system and reduce water pickup.
Foam may be caused by:
-
Using too much cleaning solution
-
Using a high-foaming cleaner
-
Cleaning floors with detergent residue
-
Not using defoamer when needed
Use a commercial defoamer in the recovery tank when excessive foam is present.
QUICK CHECKS
Start With These Quick Checks Before replacing any parts, check these common causes first.
STEP-BY-STEP TROUBLESHOOTING
Complete each step before moving to the next one
Turn off the machine and inspect both squeegee blades. Remove hair, string, tape, dirt, and other debris. Wipe the rubber clean and check whether the edge is still straight and sharp. If the rubber is only dirty, cleaning it may restore normal water pickup. If the edge is rounded, torn, hardened, or permanently bent, the rubber may need to be rotated, flipped, or replaced.
Lower the squeegee assembly and check whether the rubber touches the floor evenly across its full width. Poor contact may cause: Water streaks in the center Water left on one side Water escaping from the ends Uneven pickup while turning Confirm that the squeegee assembly is installed correctly and is not visibly bent or damaged.
Turn off the machine and empty the recovery tank. Then check: The recovery tank lid The lid gasket The drain hose and drain cap The float and float screen The vacuum inlet Clean any dirt or buildup before closing the tank again. The tank must be properly sealed for the vacuum system to create suction.
Disconnect the vacuum hose and check for blockages. Debris may collect: Inside the hose At the squeegee connection At the recovery tank inlet Around bends in the hose Make sure the hose is not cracked, flattened, loose, or damaged.
Open the recovery tank and inspect for excessive foam. If foam is present: Empty and rinse the recovery tank. Reduce the amount of cleaning solution. Use a low-foaming commercial floor cleaner. Add the recommended amount of defoamer to the recovery tank. Excessive foam can interfere with water recovery and may allow moisture or foam to reach the vacuum system.
Turn on the vacuum system and listen carefully. The vacuum motor sounds normal, but water pickup is poor: The issue is more likely related to: Squeegee rubber Vacuum hose Tank seal Drain hose cap Float system Excessive foam The vacuum motor does not run: Check: Whether the vacuum function is turned on Whether the recovery tank is full Whether the float system has activated Whether the machine is displaying an error Whether the electrical connection is secure If the vacuum motor still does not operate, contact technical support.
