Floor Sweeper Not Picking Up Debris?

If your floor sweeper is not cleaning properly or leaving debris behind, the issue may be related to brush operation, brush wear or adjustment, rubber skirts, the debris hopper, dust filter, or dust-control fan. Follow the step-by-step troubleshooting guide below to inspect these areas and identify the possible cause before contacting technical support.

1. Check the Brushes

Make sure the main brush and side brushes are spinning normally, contacting the floor properly, and are not excessively worn or tangled with debris.

2. Check the Rubber Skirts & Hopper

Make sure the rubber skirts are properly positioned and the debris hopper is empty, correctly installed, and properly sealed.

3. Check the Filter & Fan

Make sure the dust filter is not clogged and the dust-control fan is running normally.

4. Check the Fan Power

If the fan is not running, check the fan fuse and power supply, or continue to the Step-by-Step Troubleshooting guide for further diagnosis.

QUICK CHECKS

Before starting detailed troubleshooting, check these common causes of not cleaning properly first.

STEP-BY-STEP TROUBLESHOOTING

Turn on the machine and activate the sweeping function. Check whether the main brush and both side brushes are spinning normally. Make sure all brushes are operating properly before continuing with the following steps.

With the sweeping function activated, check whether the main brush and side brushes are making proper contact with the floor. If the brushes are spinning but are not fully contacting the floor, the machine may not be able to sweep debris effectively. Check the brush position and adjust the brush height if necessary.

Turn off the machine and inspect the main brush and side brushes for excessive wear, shortened or damaged bristles, and any hair, string, plastic, wire, or other debris wrapped around the brushes. Remove any tangled debris that may interfere with normal operation. If the brushes are severely worn and can no longer maintain proper contact with the floor, replace them.

Check the front, rear, left, and right rubber skirts around the sweeping area. Make sure the skirts are properly positioned and maintaining appropriate contact with the floor. If any rubber skirt is excessively worn, torn, missing, folded, shifted out of position, or leaving a large gap with the floor, adjust it as needed or replace it if damaged.

Remove and empty the debris hopper, then inspect the sealing strip around the hopper. Make sure the seal is properly installed and has not become loose, detached, cracked, or damaged. Also check for debris around the sealing area that may prevent the hopper from sealing properly. Clean the area and reinstall the hopper correctly. Replace the sealing strip if it is damaged.

Remove and inspect the dust filter for heavy dust buildup or blockage. A clogged filter can restrict airflow and affect the machine's dust-control and cleaning performance. Clean the filter thoroughly if it is clogged or heavily covered with dust. If the filter is damaged or can no longer be cleaned effectively, replace it.

Turn on the sweeping system and check whether the dust-control fan is running normally. If the fan is not working, turn off the machine and inspect the fan assembly. Check whether the fan blades are damaged, cracked, deformed, or blocked by debris. If the fan blades are damaged or deformed, the fan may need to be replaced.

If the fan does not operate, locate the electrical connector for the fan and use a multimeter set to the appropriate DC voltage range to check whether power is reaching the fan while the fan function is activated. If voltage is present but the fan does not run, the fan may be faulty and may need to be replaced. If there is no voltage at the connector, continue to the next step and inspect the corresponding fuse.

Turn off the machine and locate the fuse associated with the fan circuit. Remove the fuse and inspect it for a broken internal element, blackening, burn marks, or other visible damage. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new fuse of the same type and rating, then test the machine again. If the replacement fuse blows again, stop troubleshooting and contact technical support for further diagnosis.

If the machine is still not sweeping properly after completing the steps above, please contact our technical support team and provide your machine model number, order number, a brief description of the problem, and a short video showing the machine while sweeping and the debris left behind after it passes over the area. If you found any damaged or abnormal parts during troubleshooting, please also send clear photos or videos so our technical team can review the issue and advise you on the next step.
